Clayton leaves behind his beloved dog. He keeps to himself and doesn’t understand why he must go to war.
Calvin leaves behind a wife and son. He does not know that Josephina is pregnant.
Winifred gathers her daughters to share some sad news. Charlie would not be coming home ever. She burst into tears. She lost her first born son and has three more sons still overseas. Would they come home or be lost to her forever, too?
Winifred thought of all the things that Charlie would never experience: a career, a wife, a son of his own. How could this happen? Winifred began to spend more and more time in bed. She soon learned that Claude would not be coming home either. He was 22 years old.
Calvin dies in war aged 24 year. He leaves behind a wife, Josephina, and two sons, Joey and Angelo.
Clayton is killed in war. He was a dog lover and preferred spending time with his dog over other people.
Winifred lost all four of her sons to war. She rarely left her bed.
Savanna learns that Judas has died. She vows to look after his son, Kurt. She shares the news with Ruby. Ruby vows to keep her new baby a secret from the criminal family.
Judas dies before ever learning that he will have a daughter.
Clara receives some good news. Matteo has survived the war.
Jack is another casualty of war. He will never meet his new baby or see the love of his life again.

I know. The dice were cruel. I wanted to see how Claude’s life would turn out. As a child, he never liked anyone for some reason.
They won’t be the last to be lost to war.

After a while I bent the rules a tiny bit and came up with story reasons to keep some of my boys out of war. I also based mine more on England than America, so some of the later wars weren’t as relevant in my case.
